Marketing Officer for KCL History Society

Spent two years as peer-elected Marketing Officer for KCL's largest student-run society, publicizing the society's careers information, projects, social & academic events. Managed all social media outlets: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Wordpress, and fortnightly newsletters.

Responsible for complete redesign, expansion & development of our website, and assisted in editing & recruiting for Muse Magazine, online magazine supported by KCL History Society.

Increased membership by 400% - from 100 to 450 sign-ups & subscriptions in 2 years, using strong social media presence.

During peak work periods, often took on responsibilities of Vice President to ensure smooth running of events & projects. Coordinated projects & events within society, liaising with other societies & departments, dealing with people from varying cultural backgrounds across London universities while increasing integration. Worked to extreme deadlines in delivering projects, balancing priorities for students, society & degree work.

REDESIGN, EXPANSION & DEVELOPMENT OF KCL HISTORY SOCIETY WEBSITE

Taking a university society from being barely noticed to one of the most prominent societies on campus required not only a focus on event organisation, but on a strong social media presence catering to university students.

From April 2014 to September 2014, I redesigned and expanded the KCL History Society website in time for our launch in the new academic year. Over the 2 year period, I developed the website to include not only coverage of our social & academic events, but also wider information on the Committee, Muse Magazine, the History Outreach Programme and History Around KCL, a weekly update on the rich cultural & political history surrounding King's Campus.
